Brad,

I understand that you’re upset. You care about Quixote, and that’s wonderful.

But you were totally unreasonable to Mr. Administrator. He’s not human, Brad. That means he doesn’t quite see things from a human perspective, and he’s working on it, but he doesn’t GET proper communication yet. Doesn’t understand it.

And beyond that, what exactly do you expect him to have done? A number of us– Mr A’s agents– warned Quixote away from numerous confrontations with Deanna, only for him to ignore us. What makes you think a warning from Mr A would have had any greater effect?

And if it did, to what avail? If you recall, before Quixote burst in, Deanna was about to shoot YOU. He cares about you, Brad, and so do we. Hell, I lost two nights of sleep working on cracking her codes because I refused to allow her to murder you as she’d promised. And call me cold, but unlike Quixote, you wouldn’t have been able to be saved with a short story about a miracle cure.

You care about Quixote, and you’re upset. I respect that. But it’s unfair to take that anger out on Mr. A. He’s doing his best, Brad– to SAVE us. ALL of us, Quixote included. Or didn’t you see his tweets imploring us to find the second echo and write Quixote’s refic already? You were cruel to a friend of mine, and I think you owe him an apology.

Quixote’s right, Brad: you’re a hero. But your behaviour to my friend Mr. Administrator prompts me to ask you: What the Hell, Hero?

Forgive me for my harsh tone. I care about my friends; just as I lost sleep over your well-being, I’m currently losing sleep over his.

You’re right; Quixote deserves the truth. But… I know you know this already, but PLEASE be very careful about how you tell him. I really don’t want the information to alarm him so much that it worsens his condition, and I don’t want him getting reckless with the knowledge.

You know him best; I’m sure you know how to handle it. I hope.

Hey Bradley,
I have been following Quixote on twitter, and am saddened by the thought of him hurting. I am normally a person who believes in honesty above all else, and I think that applies here. Quixote is not a child, and is capable of understanding what is wrong. Hiding the truth from him is like lying to him, and I think he will view it the same way I do.
I hope that you will use discretion in your choices, and I hope that we can move fast enough.
